Oil on canvas Description In this work I have not painted a face, but the moment when silence sinks. The figure floats in a liquid space where the hair no longer obeys gravity, but the invisible current of water. Each strand expands, becomes entangled and rises as if the body itself dissolved into its most intimate element. I worked the grayscale with an almost ritual precision: the light does not illuminate from outside, it filters; darkness does not hide, it embraces. The small white specks are not stars, but fleeting bubbles, echoes of a held breath. The face, barely suggested, remains at that delicate threshold between the surface and the abyss, between what is offered and what is only revealed to those who descend calmly. There is no color because color would be distracting. Here only the texture of the submerged mystery matters, the elegance of what floats without weight. This piece does not shout. It whispers from the depths. And only those who cultivate the most refined silence are able to hear it. Alejandro Carballosa, visual artist and Cuban designer residing in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language. Formed in visual arts and design, he blends the aesthetic sensibility of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
