The entire necklace has been hand-knotted with knots at each bead; the clasp is 925 sterling silver with gold plating. This exclusive necklace, being very long, can be worn in many different ways, all flattering depending on the occasion. The relationship of agate with Christianity is twofold: on one hand, it is mentioned as a precious stone in the Bible, and on the other, it is associated with the figure of Saint Agatha (Symbol of Fortitude). She is the patron saint of Catania, and her intercession is invoked against volcanic eruptions (such as Mount Etna). She is also the patroness of nurses and of those suffering from breast cancer, due to the torments she endured.
