Absorbed in his work - Gary Westall

Absorbed in his work by Gary Westall Painting 9.5 x 11.8 :: This painting was created during the annual plein air event in K?opotowo Poland en plein air. On the grounds of the manor house I captured my fellow artist Marc Turner as he painted on canvas. I was fascinated by his focused demeanor as he was completely immersed in the creative process. The warm light filtering through the trees and the vibrant green of the summer landscape created a peaceful inspiring atmosphere. For a moment everything around him seemed to stand still—only the dialogue between the artist the subject and the canvas mattered. With this painting I wanted not only to portray a cherished fellow artist but also to capture the special atmosphere of a plein air symposium. It is a reminder of the joy of working together in nature inspiring one another and capturing the fleeting impressions of the moment in color. Signed lower right.
