The album was released on Aug. 5, 1996 and certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold on Feb. 5, 1997. Remember Aaliyah (1979-2001) with this award. Aaliyah's second album included Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single "The One I Gave My Heart To", along with "If Your Girl Only Knew", "Got to Give It Up", "4 Page Letter", "Hot Like Fire" and the title track. The album peaked at #18 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and also did well in Canada, Japan, the UK, and several European countries. It is presented to The Hit Factory ® Mastering facility in New York City , where the album was mastered. The award is in VG condition with only very minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. It is all original although the manufacturer sticker has been torn off. The numbered sticker on the back of the award is an inventory number from the recording studio/mastering facility .
