Editorial context The Crud edition is the first complete French translation of Thaer's agronomic system, and was decisive for the diffusion of his rational agronomy in France and Italy. The publication in four volumes follows the progressive release of the German volumes and reflects the evolution of Thaer's thought between rural economy, agricultural technique, and animal science.
