A six-panel silk folding screen depicting Mount Fuji and...

A luminous six-panel folding screen (byōbu) on silk, painted in ink sumi-e with a tranquil landscape centred on the majestic peak of Mount Fuji rising above layers of mist-shrouded hills. In the foreground, a serene lakeshore is bordered by clusters of trees and a small village nestled among the foliage, while a lone boat glides across the calm waters, enhancing the composition's quiet atmosphere. Signed in the lower right corner, with seal. Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings. ---The byobu is in good condition, with minor wear and small losses along the panel joins, together with some staining to the surface and the silk border. Please refer to the pictures for further details. The item will be carefully packed and shipped accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy. 173
