A DIVISION ONE BLACK GLASS IN ORNATE METAL BUTTON

1 Large 19th century enamel DF and Paste OME example. This is an incredible and exquisite button. The central design on this beautifully ornate gilded brass setting is set with black glass. On the pierced openwork border you find interspersed clear crystal like paste jewels that sparkle. On the outer edge is found 5 enamel, almost butterfly wing, sections. What an intricate, interesting and unusual button to find. From the collection the late Don and Barb Lanier. Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4".
