2nd West Yorkshire Yeomanry Cavalry, Officer’s Helmet. A good and scarce Victorian Albert 1847-1871 pattern example with a polished nickel silver shell, with a large ornate gilt frontal plate of the standard pattern with a Victorian crown surmounting a rococo shield bearing a silver or white metal star and central garter strap with the regimental title ‘West Yorkshire Yeomanry’, enclosing a silver rose of Yorkshire, with a gilt plume holder, rosettes, peak and edge trimming, a leather backed chin chain, the correct pattern black horse hair plume, at fault, with brown leather interior lining and leather skiver lining to both peaks, one rosette separated with a solder fault on the reverse, very minor staining to a small area of the skull, otherwise very good service worn condition £800-£1,000.
