- Parker Points: 99/100 - Fill level (Goulet) - Label condition (Excellent label) - Capsule condition (Excellent) - 750 ml - Bottling (By Oxer Basterieta Zenigaonaindia,) - Ready to drink or to age - Shipping mode: La Poste (Colissimo, etc…) Characteristics and Vineyard • Grape varieties: mostly a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha (Grenache), Viura and Garnacha Blanca. • Origin: From very old vines planted around 1920 in Elvillar (Álava), situated at about 600 meters above sea level on poor calcareous soils. • Vinification and Aging: Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in oak foudres and open barrels, followed by about 10 months of aging in casks. • Aromatic profile: Offers notes of dark forest fruits, floral hints (violet), herbal nuances (thyme) and gentle spices, with great minerality and a long persistence. • Style and Inspiration: The name and label are inspired by the producer’s admiration for Shakespeare, displaying the quotation “honi soit qui mal y pense.” Critic tasting note: (vintage 2024) “This wine presents herbal aromas, with notes of truffle, red fruits and licorice, as well as a subtle herbal touch. Medium to full-bodied, this vintage reveals great finesse and a beautiful complexity, with silky tannins and a delicate fruity expression. It nevertheless retains its roundness and expressiveness, with character, savory complexity and a long finish. Blend of 49% Grenache from Badarán and Camprovín, 48% Tempranillo from Elvillar and 3% white grape varieties. Fermentation in whole grape clusters macerated according to the lasagna method.
