Domaine Julien Barge, located in Ampuis in the Rhône Valley, is a family-owned winery renowned for its wines from the Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu appellations. Julien Barge carries on a tradition of winemaking expertise by producing elegant wines that reflect their terroir. Certified organic, the estate is committed to environmentally friendly viticulture. Côte-Rôtie Coeur de Combard 2023 (magnum) The Cœur de Combard stands out with its deep ruby-red color and remarkable intensity. Produced exclusively from the volcanic terroir of the Combard vineyard, this Côte-Rôtie reveals powerful aromas of black fruits, violet, and spices. On the palate, it is elegant and refined, with velvety tannins and a beautiful mineral tension. Notes of blackberry, black pepper, and a subtle smoky character unfold through a long, precise, and harmonious finish. This wine seduces with its depth, complexity, and accessibility, while retaining outstanding aging potential. It is made predominantly from Syrah with a touch of Viognier and aged for 24 months in oak barrels. Food and wine pairings: Cœur de Combard pairs beautifully with mushroom risotto, roast leg of lamb, roasted pork chop, and other refined meat dishes. For a more original pairing, it can also be enjoyed alongside a traditional Black Forest cake.
