In the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in Gironde, Château Haut-Nouchet has for several generations cultivated a certain idea of great Bordeaux wines: wines with character, shaped by their terroir and designed for the pleasure of sharing. The property's history traverses the ages. After its rise at the beginning of the 20th century, the estate was taken over in the 1970s by Lucien Lurton, who began to restore it and renew its vineyard. In 2008, the Briest family took the reins of Château Haut-Nouchet, with the aim of revealing all the richness of this singular place. The vineyard flourishes on gravel soils resting on a clay-limestone base, in a preserved environment where vines, woods, meadows and a stream mingle. This diversity of soils contributes to giving the wines their identity and provides the white grape varieties with favorable conditions for expressing their aromas. From the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Haut-Nouchet Florilège is a dry white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, two emblematic varieties of the great Bordeaux whites. The Sauvignon brings its aromatic brightness and freshness, while the Sémillon adds roundness, texture and depth. Their complementarity gives rise to a gourmand white that emphasizes balance and fruit expression. Vintage 2019 reveals a generous profile, marked by notes of white peach and ripe fruit, accompanied by delicately honeyed nuances, a caramelized touch, and a discreet wood influence. On the palate, its ample texture and aromatic palette invite a tasting in gentle terms, without losing the charm typical of Bordeaux white wines. It is enjoyed at aperitif or with a meal. It pairs well with fish, shellfish, creamy poultry dishes or lightly spiced dishes. Served cool, at about 10 to 12 °C, it fully reveals its aromatic expression and indulgence.
