R de Ruinart Millésime 2016 is a vintage Champagne reflecting the character of the 2016 harvest. Blend: 48% Chardonnay, 32% Pinot Noir and 20% Meunier. The grapes originate predominantly from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. Vinification and ageing: Hand-harvested grapes, alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged on its lees for at least six years. Dosage: 5 g/l. Alcohol: 12.5% vol. Tasting notes: Bright golden-yellow colour with subtle yellow-orange reflections. The nose reveals ripe yellow fruits, peach, apricot and exotic fruit, followed by biscuit, cereal, dried fruit and delicate mineral and saline notes. The palate is generous yet lively, balancing ripe fruit and roundness with refreshing citrus acidity. The finish is elegant, persistent and lemon-fresh.
