2016 Chartogne Taillet

Chartogne-Taillet is today one of the most sought-after grower Champagne estates among knowledgeable buyers. Based in Merfy, near Reims, Alexandre Chartogne has progressively refined the style of the domaine with a strong focus on terroir expression and precision. Production remains limited, with a detailed parcel-by-parcel approach and long ageing in the cellar, resulting in wines known for their finesse, energy and distinctive saline character. Awarded 3 stars by La Revue du Vin de France, the domaine is considered among the leading references of grower Champagne. This lot focuses exclusively on one of the most confidential and sought-after cuvées of the domaine: Hors-Série (Avize Grand Cru) A rare cuvée produced from 100% Chardonnay sourced from Avize, Grand Cru village in the Côte des Blancs. The chalk-rich soils bring a strong mineral backbone, resulting in a Champagne driven by tension, precision and purity. This cuvée stands apart within the range, illustrating the domaine’s ability to work beyond Merfy while maintaining its signature style. A highly focused selection offering a rare opportunity to acquire multiple bottles of one of Chartogne-Taillet’s most limited and collectible cuvées. Our commitment: Wines sourced directly from estates or their official distribution networks Stored in optimal professional conditions Carefully packed with protective materials Fully insured shipping against breakage
