The lot features a mini-vertical from two splendid vintages of the early 2000s: * 2 Bottles of Fontalloro 2003 * 1 Bottle of Fontalloro 2004 Creation & History First created in 1983 through the vision of the Poggiali family and master winemaker Franco Bernabei, Fontalloro represents the highest and purest expression of the native Sangiovese grape within the estate. The unique feature of this wine lies in its geographic location: the grapes come from vineyards situated right across the border that separates the Chianti Classico zone (in the upper part of Fèlsina) and the Chianti Colli Senesi designation. Because the grapes originate from both sides of these traditional sub-zones, it is classified as a Toscana IGT. Blend & Winemaking * Grape Variety: 100% Sangiovese (Sangioveto). * Terroir: Mixed soils at an altitude of 330-407 meters above sea level. Rocky, calcareous, and clayey terrain on the Chianti Classico side, combined with soils rich in sand, silt, and marine sediments bordering the Crete Senesi. * Aging: Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with skin contact for about 16-20 days. Aged in French oak barriques (new and second-use) for 18-22 months, followed by at least 8-12 months of bottle conditioning. Vintage Tasting Notes * Fontalloro 2003: A warm vintage that resulted in a wine of great richness, structure, depth, and density. The nose features captivating, evolved notes of sweet tobacco, wet earth, blackcurrant, licorice, and refined spices, supported by polished tannins and an aristocratic finish. * Fontalloro 2004: Considered a classic, extraordinary vintage for its balance, freshness, and expressiveness. On the palate, it is silky, vibrant, and precise, showing ripe, round fruit perfectly balanced by a refreshing, elegant acidity. * Number of bottles: 3 * Producer: Fèlsina (Castelnuovo Berardenga, Siena, Italy) * Wine: Fontalloro * Vintages: 2003 (2x) and 2004 (1x) * Wine type: Red * Classification: Toscana IGT * Bottle size: 0.75 Liters * Alcohol content: 13.5% - 14% vol (depending on the vintage) * Fill level: Excellent (full neck / base of neck) * Label condition: Excellent condition, fully legible as shown in photos * Capsule condition: Excellent and intact, original metal capsule Condition & Storage (Note for the buyer) The bottles shown in the pictures are the exact ones you will receive.
