1 bottle of Ribera del Duero Red Wine Vega Sicilia Tinto Valbuena 5º Año Reserva 2000. Vintage rating Ribera del Duero: Very Good. The bottles are perfect, no leaks, with the normal tone of a 26-year-old wine. They have always been well stored. Score: 92/100 Robert Parker Manual harvest on the Vega Sicilia estate, with predominance of Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) and a small proportion of Merlot. Fermentation in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature. Aging for 5 years in wood and bottle, with French and American oak casks, and later resting in large wooden tuns. Released to the market around 2005. Tasting note: deep cherry red color with light evolution. Aromas of ripe black fruit, spices, cedar, fine leather and balsamics. On the palate it is elegant, deep, with very polished tannins, good balance and a long finish. Drinking window: 20 to 30 years if well preserved. Serving temperature: 16–18°C. Pairings: roast lamb, red meats, stews and cured cheeses. Shipping €13 only to Spain. Note: When dealing with very old wines, it is better to let them rest again in the winery for up to 2 months so the sediment settles. To improve tasting, it is advisable to open the bottle 2 hours before tasting for better oxygenation.
