2000 Fontodi Flaccianello Della Pieve - Tuscany IGT - 1 Magnum (1.5L)

The 2000 Flaccianello della Pieve by Tenuta Fontodi, presented in the highly collectible and prestigious 1.5-liter Magnum format, is one of the most iconic and sought-after Supertuscans, crafted from 100% pure Sangiovese selected from the estate's finest organic vineyards in Panzano in Chianti, within the famous Conca d'Oro valley. This Tuscan masterpiece was aged for twenty-four months in new French oak barriques from Troncais and Allier before undergoing further refinement in the bottle. The 2000 vintage was warm and dry, producing a wine of incredible richness, concentration, and a seductive, graceful personality. It displays an intense and deep ruby color with elegant garnet reflections. The bouquet is complex and rich, offering notes of ripe red cherries, plums, and violets, beautifully integrated with developing tertiary aromas of leather, tobacco, licorice, cocoa, and sweet spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, smooth, and rounded, supported by beautifully polished, velvety tannins and a remarkably long, warming finish. Thanks to the Magnum format, which allows for a slower maturation and a superior balance compared to the standard bottle, this vintage has preserved a stunning freshness and is now perfectly ready to drink and enjoy. This highly collectible wine has been widely praised by international critics, receiving 93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and 92 points from Wine Spectator. The alcohol content is 14% and the bottle has been flawlessly stored under professional cellar conditions.
