Its name, meaning “red head” in Italian, refers to the red-painted cylinder heads of Ferrari racing engines, particularly those of the famous Testa Rossa models that were victorious on the racetrack. Designed by Pininfarina, its spectacular silhouette is distinguished by its low, wide lines, retractable headlights, and imposing, ribbed side air intakes, which have become its signature feature. Beyond their bold aesthetics, these air intakes feed the engine’s side radiators. At nearly two meters wide, the Testarossa commands a remarkable presence and perfectly embodies the automotive exuberance of the 1980s. Under its rear hood lies a 4.9-liter flat-12 engine, mounted in a longitudinal mid-engine position. Featuring four valves per cylinder, four overhead camshafts, and fuel injection, it produces 390 ch at 6,300 rpm and 490 Nm of torque. Paired with a five-speed manual transmission, this engine allows the Italian sports car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km/h. Its captivating sound and smooth power delivery fully contribute to the driving pleasure. Designed first and foremost as a prestigious grand tourer, the Testarossa combines high-level performance, high-speed stability, and a two-seater cabin that blends comfort and sportiness—notably featuring the famous metal gearshift gate. With 7,177 units produced between 1984 and 1991, this Berlinetta Boxer enjoyed considerable commercial success for a car in this category. Now highly prized by collectors, the Testarossa holds a prominent place among iconic Ferraris. A true symbol of a decade marked by bold styling and power, it remains a Maranello legend and one of the most recognizable Ferraris in history. The Ferrari Testarossa we are offering was delivered new by the Auto Palace dealership in Cannes through Établissements Charles Pozzi, the official importer for France, to its first owner, a resident of Aix-en-Provence, in October 1988. Registered on October 6, 1988, this is a 1989 model year example, that is, a so-called “5-nut” version, referring to its “5-bolt” star-spoke wheels, thus moving away from the center-lock system and TRX tires of previous versions. It features the Rosso Corsa paint color characteristic of the brand and model. However, its interior configuration is quite unique, as it features two-tone black and red upholstery, paired with red carpet that matches the body color, creating a look that is both understated and sporty—and truly striking. During the first fifteen years following its factory release, it was regularly serviced by Juan Auto, a well-known specialist on the French Riviera at the time, as evidenced by the original service log that still accompanies it. It was then moved to the Bordeaux region, where it was purchased by the current owner from a reputable dealer in 2009. In the slightly more than 17 years he has owned the car, he has driven it relatively little, while keeping it in excellent condition. As a result, this Testarossa—which has clearly always been well-maintained—is now in an enviable state of preservation, having clocked just 79,200 km. This means that
