1983 Kloster Eberbach Assmannshäuser Höllenberg...

Kloster Eberbach represents more than 850 years of winemaking tradition. The historic monastery's monks recognized early on that the climatic conditions of the Rheingau region were ideal for producing exceptional wines from locally grown grapes. Pinot Noir has been cultivated in Assmannshausen since at least 1507. The vineyard, with slopes reaching gradients of up to 65%, is characterized by remarkably uniform, violet-hued phyllite slate soils. This dessert bottling hails from an underrated vintage which saw a lot of Eiswein. Much as Pinot Noir is gently pressed into white wine in Champagne, the frozen red grapes of this eiswein rendered a clear nectar after being harvested in the frigid morning hours, and the red color remained in the skins. Savory notes of luscious red berries, honeyed apricots, and a whisper of vanilla, all harmonizing in a delicate sweetness that dances elegantly on your palate. The wine's velvety texture and balanced acidity make it a perfect companion for rich desserts, such as a dark chocolate torte or a creamy blue cheese, enhancing every bite with its luxurious mouthfeel. Estate bottled and shipped by Kloster Eberbach. Excellent condition of bottle, label, cork and capsule. Drink now.
