1983 Jim Kaat St. Louis Cardinals professional model road jersey (MEARS "A10"). Classic style done in powder blue has "Cardinals" team logo embroidered across the front with number "36" below. Number also appears on back below the name "Kaat." Rawlings tag on the inside front tail notes size (48) and there is a "Set 1 1983" flag tag. Nice use and wash wear are evident throughout and there is a hint of light discoloration in areas noted for accuracy. An included letter of provenance states that the jersey was acquired by the writer during his time in baseball as a batting practice pitcher for the White Sox and Pirates. The 1983 marked Kaat's final after a remarkable (25) year run that stretched across (4) decades. At the time of retirement he ranked 5th all-time with (283) wins and held the record for Gold Gloves awarded to a mounds man having collected (16) straight from 1962-1977.
