1978 Triumph Bonneville T140 'Madison Square Garden' Custom

This 1978 Triumph Bonneville T140 is among the most historically significant and personally resonant motorcycles in the collection, having been commissioned by Madison Square Garden and presented to Billy Joel to mark his landmark 150th sold-out performance at the world-famous venue. The Triumph was custom-painted especially for Mr. Joel, featuring a piano theme on the gas tank, along with a custom-inscribed gas cap. It is accompanied by a matching helmet, bearing the dates of every show he performed at Madison Square Garden. This is a remarkable piece of history and pays tribute to one of the most extraordinary relationships between an artist and a venue in the history of popular music. By the conclusion of his historic residency in 2024, Billy Joel had performed more concerts at Madison Square Garden than any other artist. *Please note that the lots offered in the Billy Joel Collection have been in long-term static storage and may not be currently operational. They will require mechanical attention prior to use. car
