Estate information Renowned for the extraordinary aging potential of its wines, the Greppo estate – whose name recalls the steep slopes on which its hillside vineyards lie – began its rise to success at the end of the 19th century. At that time, the current owner Clemente Santi achieved a great milestone: one of his Sangiovese wines was awarded at the Paris Universal Exposition of 1867. Two years later, his Brunello won a gold medal at a local competition in Montepulciano. Today, many years later, his wines are still acclaimed worldwide: this 26-hectare estate sublimates Sangiovese, excelling in the art of aging in the pure local tradition. The wine rests for 12 months (for the Rosso) and 36 months (for the Riserva) in Slavonian oak casks (containers from 10 to 140 hectoliters). The estate also undergoes bottle aging to further soften the tannins of this unique grape. The result is wines of extraordinary elegance and finesse. Cuvée information The wine comes from a denomination that is enjoying its peak splendor thanks to the estate where it was born. This Brunello di Montalcino is a superb long-aging wine with a gastronomic vocation. The Riserva is made only in exceptional vintages. Lauded by the press, it is a legendary wine!
