Sparking and bright with no signs of toning, copper specks, or other blemishes that might inhibit either the technical quality or eye appeal. The light frost on Liberty's portrait and the eagle are undisturbed and offer appreciable contrast with equally delicate mirrored reflectivity in the fields. The Proof $10 gold eagle mintage for the year 1905 came to 86 pieces in all. Survivors number only 40 to 55 coins (per John W. Dannreuther, 2018) and, given this issue's positioning late in the Liberty Head series, few of these possess enough field to device contrast to support a CAM designation from the major third-party grading services.
