1902-O Barber Half Dollar. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC.

1902-O Barber Half Dollar. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC. A boldly struck obverse joins a reverse that displays typical softness for the issuing mint. Both sides are highly lustrous and choice, however, with enhancing blushes of iridescent golden-apricot and olive-gray toning at the peripheries. As with nearly all Barber half dollar issues from the Louisiana branch mint, the 1902-O is scarce to rare in the finer circulated and all Mint State grades. Heavy attrition through circulation claimed most of the 2,526,000 pieces produced and, indeed, the vast majority of survivors are in the lowest circulated grades. Among Uncirculated examples Gems are in the distinct minority. This premium PCGS MS-64 with CAC approval, equally as elusive, represents a fine bidding opportunity for advanced specialists in this series. PCGS Population: 15; 13 finer (MS-66 finest). CAC Stickered Population: 6; 0. PCGS# 6493. NGC ID: 24MG. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
