1892-O Barber Half Dollar. MS-65 PL (PCGS). CAC.

1892-O Barber Half Dollar. MS-65 PL (PCGS). CAC. This captivating Gem represents a fleeting bidding opportunity for advanced Barber half dollar enthusiasts, for it is the only 1892-O certified in the PCGS PL category. Intensely reflective fields support frosty motifs, the interplay between the two delivering bold cameo contrast. Untoned apart from splashes of reddish-russet in isolated obverse peripheral areas. Saved in significant numbers as a first year Barber half dollar, the 1892-O is more readily obtainable in Mint State than a limited mintage of 390,000 pieces might imply. On the other hand, the issue is far scarcer than the 1892 in all grades, while as a Gem this New Orleans Mint date is rare even without a Prooflike finish. A stunning coin worthy of the strongest bids. Provenance: From our sale of the Abigail Collection, Part III, Spring 2023 Auction, March, lot 6442. PCGS and CAC Stickered Populations: just 1 in all grades in the PL category. PCGS# 86462. NGC ID: 24LG. Click here for certification details from PCGS. Image with the PCGS TrueView logo is obtained from and is subject to a license agreement with Collectors Universe, Inc. and its divisions PCGS and PSA.
