1794 Talbot, Allum & Lee Cent. Fuld-4, W-8590. Rarity-2. With NEW

Stunning 1794 Talbot, Allum, & Lee Cent The Eric Newman Specimen 1794 Talbot, Allum & Lee Cent. Fuld-4, W-8590. Rarity-2. With NEW YORK. Small & on Reverse. Copper. Lettered Edge. MS-66 RB (NGC). Bright mint color embraces all obverse design elements and covers the reverse, with gentle mellowing in the obverse fields and just a trace on the reverse. Flashy luster impresses as much today as it would have when new. The strike is splendidly bold, with full detail visible on all motifs. A scattering of lint marks and planchet chips are seen under a glass in the obverse fields, a suggestion of the intention behind making this coin beautiful from the start. A beautiful example that is likely unsurpassable and ranks as one of the highest grade TAL tokens of any variety. PCGS has never graded one of these better than MS-65 RB and this stands alone atop the NGC Census. Provenance: From the Winslet Collection. Earlier ex Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society; Heritage's sale of the Eric P. Newman Collection, Part IV, May 2014, lot 30395; Heritage's Summer FUN Signature Auction of July 2015, lot 3005; Heritage's CSNS Signature Auction of April 2019, lot 3017. NGC Census: 1; 0 finer. PCGS# 635. NGC ID: 2B5X. Click here for certification details from NGC.
