1788 Vermont Copper. RR-16, Bressett 15-S, W-2120. Rarity-1. Bust Right. VF-30 (PCGS). 93.7 grains. The later state of the RR-16 obverse, the dot above the head faint and additional dots and chips readily evident in the right and left field areas. Medium chestnut and golden-brown surfaces. A truly pleasing example of the variety, with only a nuance of the central roughness that is typically associated with this attribution. Some reverse shallowness is noted at center, where much planchet roughness remains, but the surfaces are well composed for both the variety and grade with only moderate wear and a few faint handling marks on the effigy. Choice in hand and worthy of serious bidder consideration. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. Earlier from our (Bowers and Merena's) sale of the Dr. Robert I.
