1783 Nova Constellatio Copper. Crosby 2-B, W-1865. Rarity-2. CONSTELLATIO

1783 Nova Constellatio Copper. Crosby 2-B, W-1865. Rarity-2. CONSTELLATIO, Pointed Rays, Small U.S. AU-58 (PCGS). An absolutely perfect example of both the type and Crosby number at the Choice AU level. Both sides are sharply to fully struck on a hard, choice planchet that is free of even minor flaws. Even the all-seeing eye at central obverse is fully rendered and crisp. Obverse impression drawn trivially to 3 o'clock, reverse similarly to 9 o'clock, affecting only the border denticulation, and hardly a detracting feature here. Richly and originally toned in blended autumn-orange and chestnut brown, the surfaces are virtually blemish-free without so much a single distraction. Thoroughly PQ and worthy of the strongest bids. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 801. NGC ID: 2AYX. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
