1722 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.3-Bc.1, W-12730. Rarity-4.

1722 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.3-Bc.1, W-12730. Rarity-4. First Type, Harp at Left. AU-58 (PCGS). Handsome steel and olive-brown patina on surfaces that retain considerable faded mint orange color around and among many of the design elements, particularly on the obverse. Both sides are hard and satiny in texture, reverse with some nice gloss, obverse more subdued yet just as original and attractive. With a well executed and overall bold to sharp strike this minimally handled example is a lovely Choice AU representative of a distinct Hibernia halfpenny design type. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 167. NGC ID: F7HW. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
