16mm Film “Olympic Games in Melbourne 1956” (Coca-Cola) in the original Fiberbilt Shipping Case – Complete Set (1958/1965) Description: For sale is a fascinating and exceptionally well-preserved piece of time, sport, and cinema history: An original 16mm feature-film rental copy of the official documentary report on the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne. This rare complete set comes from the German post-war cinema distribution and is fully documented. The film was produced by The Coca-Cola Export Corporation (New York) and exclusively licensed. Details & Included Items: 16mm color film on a metal reel: approximately 245 meters in length (runtime approx. 22–25 minutes). It uses a single-strip system with an integrated optical soundtrack (German audio / German text overlays within the frames). Original FSK censorship certificate: Issued on December 3, 1958 in Wiesbaden by the Voluntary Self-Control of the Film Industry (Test No. 18 562-S). Rated for 6 years and up. Original Fiberbilt Shipping Case (USA): A square rental and transport box made of vulcanized fiberglass (dimensions: 29.5 x 29.5 cm) with reinforced metal corners, original viewing window for the address card, and fully functional green fabric straps with metal buckles. With original inspection slip in the window: “Runtime: 25 min. Film tested and cleaned: 18.3.1965”. Film can: Original circular metal can with blue rental label from the historic copying plant “Stöcker Film”. Condition: Film stock: The film is completely odorless. There is no vinegar syndrome (chemical decay of acetate film) present! The material is flexible, dry, and excellently aged. The perforation is intact. Case & accessories: The Fiberbilt case and the film can show authentic, age-related patina and slight rust on the metal parts, which perfectly underscore the vintage charm of this genuine work-and-rental tool. The straps and buckles fasten securely. An absolutely top-tier collectible for enthusiasts of Olympic memorabilia, historic Coca-Cola advertising history, and collectors of analog film technology.
