Andrew Smith & Son is Hampshire’s leading auction house with its origins dating back to 1793. Their saleroom is based in Itchen Stoke, five miles east of Winchester, and comprises a renovated brick and flint barn and a purpose built auction house set in the rolling Hampshire countryside. There is plenty of free parking and a café open on viewing and sale days. With an excellent location, extensive advertising and worldwide internet exposure, sales attract large attendances and realise healthy prices, with record prices achieved in some cases.
Six weekly Fine Art, Antiques & Decorative Furnishings auctions are held offering a wide range of items from early oak & country, Georgian and Victorian furniture, pictures, ceramics and glass, silver, jewellery, rugs and carpets, architectural items, vintage textiles and costumes through to mid twentieth century collectables such as Clarice Cliff, toys, clocks, medals and militaria.
Regular Saturday morning antiques sales are held which include pictures, furniture, ceramics and collectable items. Prices in these sales range from several pounds to several thousand.
