AN ARGENTINE BLACK LACQUERED GEORGE II STYLE CHINOISERIE BAR CABINET ON CARVED GILT WOOD STAND, CIRCA 1930-1940, the black lacquered two door cabinet decorated on the front of the left door with a flying stork soaring over pagodas nestled in the mountains over an interior palace garden scene with two figures on a checkerboard floor, one figure standing and holding a basket of flowers, over a figure of a Samurai warrior standing next to a hibachi and holding his sword at ready, the front of the right door with a flying stork over a pagoda and mountain peaks, over a courtier couple in a gondola type boat, over a Samurai warrior on horseback, the right side with female courtier figures framed by floral scrolls, the left side with a Samurai figure and female consort framed by flora and fauna, the back of the left door with two potted floral sprays, the back of the right door with hanging lanterns, the red lacquered interior with mirrored back fitted with a "D" form removable shelf over a slide fitted with green tooled leather over two drawers with gilt foliate corner, raised on gilt and gessoed carved stand with a shell at the center flanked by fruiting boughs and acanthus scrolls, with cabriole legs with carved acanthus leaf caps and modified trefid form feet, the internal lighting switch stamped "FAMAX, Industria Argentina, 220V 5A, C,A."
