Statue (1) - Hardwood - Kannon - Japan - 19th century

This statuette coming from my grand grand father represents Kannon Bosatsu (Japanese for bodhisatva) also called Kannon Sama (proper Japanese name is Kanzeon Bosatsu) , in the typical japanese (and Chinese) female apparence. It's the bodhisattva of compassion and mercy. The statuette is in very good condition, it lacks three fingers from the left hand though , as in picture.
